It's official....

She's a preschooler. :)

She (okay, I) survived the first day. I really thought I'd be fine... UNTIL she threw her arms around my legs and said "please don't leave me here". Stab me through the heart. Not to worry though, she was all smiles when I picked her up. Thank goodness. Yes, I cried. In case you wondered.

1) This is obviously before. She told me the only thing she was NOT excited about was that Cat-Cat couldn't go with her. She made me promise to put Cat-Cat in a seatbelt IF I went anywhere. :) And OF COURSE she had to have shiny new shoes for the first day of school.

2) Still laughing and excited. For the record, I DID agree to curl her hair, but she changed her mind and wanted braids. I was a little relieved... I can't curl my OWN hair without burning myself... let alone a wiggly 3 year old.
3) She couldn't eat lunch because she said her tummy was nervous. I think she might take after me a little bit! Here she was starting to get anxious.
4) We arrived at the school (early, for once) and right about the time I was going to take a happy picture of her, another dad (dressed in full policeman gear) told Carlie she looked like a model. This is the look she gave him. (The fact that he had a gun on him and was male PROBABLY didn't help matters. hehe! ;))
5) We are walking down the hall toward her class when she turned around and said, "I'm really scared." Yes, I'm the dork mom with the BIG camera capturing her scared moment. Don't worry, I gave her a hug right after this.
6) She went into the class and had to join the circle. When I look at this picture, I think, "she can NOT be in school... look at her pudgy baby fingers and that dimple on her elbow." And then, I kinda want to take her back home with me. Why is this so hard?

6) And this right here, followed by a quick flash of the "I Love You" sign, was my complete and utter emotional undoing. (I can do this. I can do this. I really can.)

8) And just so I don't end this post on such a sad note.... check her out here. :) Yeah, I felt MUCH better. And I couldn't get enough of her hugs and kisses. She loved it. When Colston got home from school, the first thing she told him was, "Guess what, I went to school and I didn't get ANY homework!" (of course in that sing-songy
"nana-nana-boo-boo" kind of tone.) He just rolled his eyes. :)

Today she told me she was most excited to go to school to "hang out with her girlfriends." I LOVE this girl!!! :)

Oh, Joni, I almost bawled reading this, so I can imagine how much harder it was on you! She is such a princess, and she doesn't hold anything back in her expressions. I love it. Hanging out with her girlfriends!! She is too much!
