Since when.... ?

Since when did MY BABY start saying things like:
-"pretty much"
-"that's awesome"
-"excellent"
-"I'm feeling a little frustrated"
-"you're hurting my feelings.... and my heart"
-"don't worry, I'll just be over here"

Maybe I'm feeling a wee bit sentimental. Her big brother starts second grade tomorrow (seriously??) and she will start preschool next week. Don't mistake my sappiness for being SAD. I'm not. I'm thrilled. It's time. She is ready, I am ready. I'm not that mom who won't know what to do with herself. I'm just not. Who knows, maybe I might actually get more work done during NORMAL human hours! But.... it's one of those growing pains kind of feelings. The realization that really, truly, things are changing around here. Sure it's for the better... but we'll never go back to *this* phase again. Sigh...

You know what I AM excited about though? Yep. The traditional back-to-school picture of the two kids tomorrow against the brick wall like I've done for the last 3 years. Who knows, I may even have to dig out the old ones just to compare. Why not? :)

Oh, that girl is too much. My favorite is "You're hurting my feelings...and my heart". That just makes my day thinking about her saying it. :)

You have a sweet little princess, Joni, and she is going to do so great at school...she seems like the type that will thrive on social interaction. I totally get where you are coming from, though... we can never go back to "this" stage, whatever stage we're at, ever again. Sigh.
