Some things just make me giggle.

This image deserves just a little bit of background. I honestly don't know this man, or the child either, for that matter. This was taken at the reception of the last wedding I photographed. I took SO many pictures that day that I really forgot all about this one. I remember what made me take the picture to begin with. It was late at the reception.... at least for a little one... and this man was doing his best to cheer him up. I never saw him without his funny glasses and fake nose. But what I see behind the glasses is his pride and joy in this child. I see the twinkle in his eyes and the laugh lines on his face. It just makes me happy. And the baby... well, you can see, the child is stunningly beautiful with the most perfect little mouth and tousled hair. Images like this are WHY I take pictures. Doesn't it make you want to know more about them? It makes me WANT to know their story. And need I point out that sweet little hand on his face? So, to whomoever you are, thank you. Thank you for making me laugh on a night where things just aren't going right. Thank you for making me feel that somewhere, all is right with the world.

this picture wouldn't have meant as much if you hadn't had the commentary to go w/ it.
